ABOUT YWCA IRELAND

YWCA Ireland (Young Women’s Christian Association Ireland) is a national membership-based women’s organisation and registered charity in the Republic of Ireland and affiliated with the World YWCA movement.

Officially established in 1876, YWCA Ireland has a long history of supporting women and girls to be leaders, encouraging women in their Christian faith and of providing safe spaces for women, girls and the wider community.

VISION

Inspired by the Christian faith we seek to empower women in Ireland to be engaged, connected, and transformed and to lead and affect change through Christ.

We do this by:

  • Providing welcoming and community orientated spaces for women;

  • Advocating for gender justice;

  • Equipping and supporting young women in every sphere of leadership;

  • Encouraging young women to transform their communities;

  • Building national and international networks of Christian women leaders.

YWCA Movement Global Goal 2035

By 2035, 100 million young women and girls will transform power structures to create justice, gender equality and a world without violence and war; leading a sustainable YWCA movement, inclusive of all women.
